Lower Operating Cost
A geothermal system operates more efficiently than ordinary heating and air conditioning systems because it can deliver an astounding five units of energy for every one unit of electrical energy used.  One unit of energy put into the heat pump (electricity) plus 4 units of energy pulled from the earth (geothermal energy) yields 5 units of energy output for heating and cooling!  This, by the way, is a 500% efficient system, or in heat pump terms, a 5 COP - coefficient of performance.  By combining stored earth energy with safe electric power, many geothermal system owners realize savings up to 70% for heating, cooling and hot water.

Enhanced Comfort
Geothermal systems provide precise distribution of comfortable air all year long, eliminating hot spots and cold spots. During heating, you'll experience warm air without the hot blasts associated with ordinary gas furnaces, or the cooler air of an air source heat pump. Additionally, when cooling, our geothermal units deliver cool, dehumidified air.

Unlike air conditioners and heat pumps, geothermal units are installed indoors (like a refrigerator), so they are not subject to wear and tear caused by rain, snow, ice, debris, extreme temperatures or vandalism. Geothermal units have proven to be very reliable and require less maintenance.

Unlike ordinary air conditioners or heat pumps, there is no noisy outdoor unit to disturb the outdoor environment or the neighbors. Geothermal heat pump units are designed and constructed for "whisper quiet" operation, similar to a refrigerator.

  • One of the most efficient residential heating and cooling systems available today
  • Heating efficiencies 50 to 70% higher than other heating systems and cooling efficiencies 20 to 40% higher than available air conditioners
  • Save money in operating and maintenance costs
  • Investments recouped in only a few years
  • Positive cash flow; energy savings usually exceed the cost of the system
  • Some utilities offer rebates or incentives to their customers who purchase GSHPs. To see what your state has to offer click here.
  • Many heat pump manufacturers, local utilities, and lending institutions have special financing for homeowners who are installing GSHPs

Owners enjoy lower utility bills (25% to 70% lower than with conventional systems), lower maintenance, and higher levels of comfort, year-round. They also have the peace of mind of knowing they're being environmentally responsible.

Since a Geothermal system burns no fossil fuel on-site to produce heat, it generates far fewer greenhouse gas emissions than a conventional furnace, and completely eliminates a potential source of poisonous carbon monoxide within the home or building. Even factoring in its share of the emissions from the power plant that produces electricity to operate the Geothermal system, total emissions are far lower than for conventional systems.
